Widely recognized for mobile phones and now the Finnish wireless equipment maker, Nokia is moving ahead to networking technology. Nokia is acquiring a part of wireless network business of Japan based Panasonic.
The monetary details of the deal are not disclosed yet.
The finalization of deal between Nokia and Panasonic will happen by this September and will be closed by the end of this year.
The deal between the companies combines the base station operations of Panasonic System Networks, along with the equipments of wireless control systems.
With this deal, Nokia is expecting to boost the market share of company’s network business, which is a major provider of next-gen 4G wireless networks, mainly in the Japanese market.
