Three new AI-powered photography apps introduced by Google under its new ‘appsperiments’ programme. The techno giant aim to bring new fun, and useful camera features to smartphone users across the globe, Google has rolled out Storyboard, Selfissimo and Scrubbies as its new photography apps. This project is inspired in part by Motion Stills, an app developed by researchers at Google that converts short videos into cinemagraphs and time lapses using experimental stabilization and rendering technologies. These latest apps are likely to be assisted by various technologies on which Google is currently working, including person and object recognition.
It’s an app which transforms videos into a single-page comic layout. One can shoot a video and load it in Storyboard and the app will automatically select interesting video frames, lay them out and apply one of six visual styles. One has a choice of saving the comic or to refresh and make a completely new one. There are approximately 1.6 trillion different possibilities offered by the app.
Selfissimo is an automated selfie app that takes photos in black and white each time one poses for the camera. To click a photograph, one just needs to tap the screen. This app encourages users to pose and capture a photo whenever they stop moving.
Scrubbies is the only app out of the three which is available for the iOS. By using this, one can easily operate the speed and direction of a video playback to make highlight actions, capture funny faces and more. One can even shoot a video and then remix it by scratching it like a DJ.
