Soon after reports came that Bharti Airtel website page — where an offer was highlighted “Apple iPhone 7 at Rs 19,990 on Airtel” — returned a 404 error message, the telecom giant confirmed that “the offer is still on”.
“The offer is very much on. The site will be up and running soon,” a source in the telecom company stated.
When a user log into the company’s website, a message returned saying: “Sorry! The page you are looking for could not be found! Please try later or go to www.airtel.in.”
“In the interest of customers and to avoid any further confusion, relevant changes are being made to the website. These will reflect shortly,” the company noted.
Airtel stated that there is a special 10 GB per month free additional data offer with any “Airtel Infinity plan” with Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus.
There is also a device lease plan, which is being focused on employees of select enterprise customers, and this offer is also very much available.
Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus were officially available in India from October 7. The telecom giant rolled out an offer on the these premium devices of Apple saying that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones can be purchased on contract basis at a minimum down payment of Rs 19,990 and Rs 30,792, respectively.
In this offer, Airtel will provide unlimited local and STD calls, free roaming, and free data (5GB, 10GB or 15GB, as per the plan chosen) under a new postpaid connection.
As a part of this plan, customers can keep the device for a year. After the completion of one year, the iPhone 7 users will have two options: either to upgrade to the next version of the iPhone or to buy the handset they are using by making a balloon payment.
