Apple has launched its first App Accelerator in Bangalore.It is aimed towards supporting engineering talent and also accelerating growth in India’s iOS developer community. This accelerator program will enlighten the participants about best practices and tools from Apple’s engineering team in India, along with a proper feedback which will enhance their experiences over the iOS platform.
The company will also provide presentations and conduct a weekly round of one-on-one meeting with Apple to discuss the performances of the app.The accelerator is located in Bengaluru’s Yelahanka suburb. To register for the free app accelerator, participants have to sign in to the page with their Apple developer account.
Tim Cook, in his last year’s visit to India, announced the program, which aims to be a tech hub for startups.
Tim Cook said, “India is home to one of the most vibrant and entrepreneurial iOS development communities in the world. With the opening of this new facility in Bangalore, we’re giving developers access to tools which will help them create innovative apps for customers around the world.”
Apple SVP or Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller said, “We are impressed by the great entrepreneurial spirit in India, and are excited to provide a platform for these developers to share their innovations with customers around the world.”
He also said “In just the first few weeks, we’ve already seen some incredible developers here at the App Accelerator Bangalore, including Practo and Reliance Games, create innovative apps that can meet the needs of customers in India and around the world,”
