The Government of India is set to launch a site to help netizens download security devices. The site – cyberswachhtakendra.gov.in – will permit clients to download tools for cleaning up malware for both PCs and cell phones.
The site will permit downloading of the security tools totally free. These devices will be based on “latest technology”,
The Cyber Swachhta Kendra will be worked by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In). The site will be propelled today in New Delhi. The Minister of law and justice, electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad will be the main visitor at the occasion.
The CERT-In, which goes under IT service, is the nodal organization to battle hacking, phishing attacks and to sustain security-related defences of the Indian Internet area.
More than 50,300 digital security episodes like phishing, site interruptions and destructions, virus and denial of services assaults were seen in the nation amid 2016,
“As per the information reported to and tracked by Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), a total number of 44,679, 49,455 and 50,362 cyber security incidents were observed during the year 2014, 2015 and 2016, respectively,” minister of state for electronics and IT PP Chaudhary said in a written reply to Lok Sabha.
He included that the sorts of digital security episodes included scanning/probing, phishing, site interruptions and destructions, virus/vindictive code and denial of service assaults.
