EY, a global tax consultancy firm, has started an online GST (Goods and Services Tax) helpdesk portal wherein small businesses can post their queries and check their solutions on the new indirect tax regime.
Small businesses, traders and entrepreneurs can avail this facility for free to achieve a seamless transition to GST and ask queries related to GST can be posted on EY India Tax Insights App, EY_India on Twitter and DigiGST website.
This GST Helpdesk is driven by a group of indirect tax professionals across 14 cities and is powered by over 800 GST practitioners.
“This facility will help in enabling a smooth transition for smaller businesses and traders across the country,” India Chairman of EY Rajiv Memani said.
Businesses are in the midst of guaranteeing GST compliance and they have to adjust their software systems according to GST requirement as well as adjust themselves to the new return filing and invoice generating format.
EY India National Tax Leader Sudhir Kapadia said, “We believe this helpdesk will be of great help to small entrepreneurs and help them realise the benefits of GST”.
Goods and Services Tax (GST), rolled out from July 1, unifies 17 different taxes like excise, service tax and VAT and will transform India into a single market for seamless transfer of goods and services.
