Facebook is trying another feature that gives clients a chance to find the closest open Wi-Fi hotpots. This feature was first spotted by The Next Web, is said to be under trying for the present and constrained to iOS as of now. The online networking leader will however be moving it out to more users later on.
Facebook spokesperson to The VentureBeat “To help people stay connected to the friends and experiences they care about, we are rolling out a new feature that surfaces open Wi-Fi networks associated with nearby places,”
The option of ‘Enable Find Wi-Fi’ will be seen in the ‘menu’ option. This will enable functioning through which will open a map on the screen showing nearby public Wi-Fi hotspots. Apart from this map will also display the operating hours of businesses offering public Wi-Fi.
One thing should be kept into consideration that Facebook’s app would require full access to the user’s location.This step will help the social media giant to build a history of accurate locations received through user’s device.
This feature is extremely helpful for users who are looking to save on the mobile data solving a major problem for them.
As per the screenshots that are shared the feature will also facilitate user with directions from their location to the place where free Wifi is available and also option to visit their Facebook page.
