Google Pixel and Pixel XL cell phones will be sold on the web and through various multi-brand retail locations from today, as the pursuit giant ventures out into the most aggressive telephone market in the world.
Targeting and catering to the premium end of the market, the Pixel cell phones will start from Rs 57,000, however to pull in customers, the organization will offer money backs and equal monthly installment (EMI) plans from numerous banks from today.
The 32GB 5-inch Pixel phone costs Rs 57,000 and the 5.5-inch 32GB Pixel XL goes on sale for Rs 67,000. 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 has been used by Google on the front display and back glass. It also comes with an excellent camera quality with a 12.3MP rear camera and a 8MP front camera. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC processor and 4 GB of RAM. It also comes with the latest Android 7.1 Nougat. Adding to the attraction is Google is also giving unlimited, full-resolution photo storage on Google Drive with every Pixel smartphone.
As it is catering the premium market is expected to have a stiff competition from phones like Apple iPhone 7 which were launched recently, Samsung S7 and S7 edge.
As per a statement given by spokesperson from the company the smartphone will be available on Flipkart and also across various organized retail stores like Ezone, Jumbo, Poorvika, Croma, Bajaj electronics, Reliance Digital, Sangeetha and Vijay Sales to name a few.
