Google releases Android 7.1 Preview for Nexus devices

Now Nexus devices are also getting Android 7.1 upgrade along with Google’s newly launched pixel phones. Google scheduled a preview release for Android 7.1 Nougat for Nexus 6P, Nexus 5x and Pixel C for now, but the update will reach other Android devices as well.

If your device is installed in the Android Beta program, you can install the update at this moment to get new components like Night Light, support for new circular icons, long-press application shortcuts and some other changes added are improvements to touch and display responsiveness.

Dave Burke one of the key personnel form Google mentioned in his blog that for the Nexus range of phones they are delivering Developer Preview at beta quality .The final public release is schedules for December .Right now they aim to figure out any device specific issues and that can be fixed.

The Newly launched Google Pixel phone’s hardware is fine tuned to run Android 7.1 thus device specific issues are not expected to be here. Google had guaranteed to release the developer review at some point in October, so the organization could’ve held up until after the Pixel launch to bring the huge Nougat upgrade to Nexus devices.

In spite of the fact that the Android 7.1 Nougat Developer Preview has begun taking off to Nexus users, it would in any case be missing elements, for example, the Pixel launcher, Pixel Camera, and 24/7 service support extended to Pixel and Pixel XL cell phones users right now.
