After unveiling the Deep ThinQ powered smart TVs earlier this year at CES 2018, LG has now launched its range of OLED TVs in India. Offered in four variants – W8, B8, C8 and E8, prices for the new LG smart TVs start at Rs 32,500 and go all the way up to Rs 29,49,990. The TV size ranges from 80cm (32-inches) to 195cm (77-inches).
“Artificial intelligence is definitely the road ahead for all our future products. AI functionality backed up with extensive research is incorporated in televisions with an aim of delivering a unique and more intuitive experience. As a matter of fact, we have taken a step ahead to implement AI function across our range of smart televisions. At LG our interest is in improving the user lifestyle and convenience. We are launching 25 models of AI today across all segments,” Younchul Park, Director-Home Entertainment, LG Electronics India, said in a press release.
Powered by LG’s Alpha 9 processor, the AI functionality on LG smart TVs let you speak into the remote control to discover and play content. Besides default commands, the TVs can also understand the intent of the query, and offer search results for the same. And while most voice assistants need to be connected to the internet to respond to queries, but LG has worked hard to ensure that commands work even without an internet connection. There are over 800 commands that work offline.
LG has also added Dolby Atmos to offer object-based 360-degree surround sound effects. The TVs also support HDR for the improved viewing experience, including Dolby Vision, HDR10 Pro, and HLG Pro. The TVs run on the webOS user interface which offers intuitive navigation with the Magic Remote’s scroll, click and point features.
