Mr. M A Mannan Country Manager Corsair Memory India

Q1. Which all products are giving strong business to Corsair in the Indian market?

Corsairs DRAMs are the major source of business in India, we have grown from being known as a Brand to a Brand of Repute in a short span of 3 years with excellent percentage of growth. Not to take away the credit of strong business growth in components, especially PSUs, where we have seen the sales graph zooming ahead.

Q2. With memory intensive applications and subsequent technologies on the rise, we see the size of RAMs shooting up drastically. Kindly share your views on this.

RAM is an integral part to push a system for better performance. Today with good configuration systems being made the demand for the extra GB’s is on rise. For a performance oriented PC, which includes your work as well as gaming, 8GB module is required. For a normal system, users were satisfied with 2GB module but with pricing coming down 4GB memories have become the entry level product and 8GB has been accepted widely on introduction due to its price point. Corsair also has a 32GB kit for its high end users.

Q3. In India, how much is the average of system memory found in :

• Desktops - 4GB
• Tablet PCs - 512MB to 1GB
• Smart phones - 2GB-8GB in recent days

Q4. As compared to your competitors, how much market share does Corsair command/ expects?

It is difficult to measure the market share that Corsair demands, but Corsair still has a long way ahead in the Indian market. Our sales focus has been in metros and today we command a good respect in all metros and our next level is to make inroads in the B&C cities which will make us one of the leading DRAM providers in India.

Q 5. How do you market your products here? Any details on distributors and channel partners (if any)

Corsair closely works with its distributors. The distributors take care of their sub distributors and help in appointing dedicated Corsair partners across the country. Every city has 2-3 Corsair dedicated partners who take the responsibility of pushing Corsair in their areas and they are truly our brand ambassadors.

Q6. Could you provide any details about your existing portfolio of gaming peripheral devices? Any gaming events Corsair associated with?

Corsair as a company is in the process of diversifying its product portfolio with the introduction of Vengeance gaming products. Corsair has recently launched Vengeance Keyboard, Mice, Speakers, Headsets etc. which are products for the gamers and enthusiasts. In India Corsair has been associated with gaming events like WCG (world cyber gaming), BYOC (Extreme gaming) etc. to promote gaming in India. Gaming and Corsair go side by side as our product compliments with the seriousness of gamers.
