iPad vs Galaxy Note 10.1: Who'll lead the show?

Seems, the tablet market has become guerrilla warfare, where the fruit themed brand Apple is like a huge army, which is dominating the land. Other tablet makers are like ragtag group of insurgents which keeps raiding and probing in a hope to find some opening it can exploit.

With the launch of Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 10.1, the tablet war has once again got fiercer. Galaxy Note is a tablet which offers some interesting features that the iPad is not offering right now.

The latest Samsung device Galaxy Note 10.1 is seen as a small victory that won't win the war, though. However, this is regarding as the biggest and strongest emerging rival in the tablet and smartphone space against iPad.  Here, I have listed few interesting features which Samsung claims are missing in the new iPad, but present in Galaxy Note 10.1.

Thickness

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is lighter and thinner than the new iPad. It is found, Galaxy Note weighs 585gm against the new iPad's 653gm. As far as thickness is concerned, Note 10.1 is 8.9mm thick versus 9.4mm thickness of the new iPad.

Can view more apps simultaneously

The South Korean giant has claimed that the new Galaxy Note 10.1 facilitate users to view two apps at the same time, while its arch rival is not offering in its remarkable iPad presently.

Can work on more than one app simultaneously

Besides viewing two apps simultaneously, Galaxy Note 10.1 also allows users to work on two apps side by side. This is an important feature missing in the new iPad. It also allows users to cut and paste content between two apps side by side, unlike the new iPad.

Optimized for trouble-free writing/drawing

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is optimized for accurate writing as well as drawing. The new Galaxy Note 10.1 is packed with stylish stylus which Samsung names as the S Pen. The S Pen has the ability to tap and hold to capture an instant screenshot, which can then be opened in an image editor. With the S Pen, users can easily sketch drawings, write task notes, circle elements, sign documents and much more.

Samsung claims, iPad's capacitive screen recognizes only one level of pressure sensitivity.

Mouse attachment

Galaxy Note 10.1 users can easily attach a mouse with the tablet, whenever required as it allows attaching a mouse with a USB 2.0 host.

Pricing

Market experts are eyeing Samsung’s latest launch as an attempt to wrestle market share from Apple. The 16 GB with Wi-Fi-capability version will be sold for US $499, the same price as the latest iPad, and a 32GB model for US $549, against iPad's US $599 price.

Well! It is difficult to say, whether Galaxy Note 10.1 would be a game changer for Samsung or not? Let the time decide it. Till then, stay tuned.
