Palm, the Smartphone maker, which is in awful condition, is planning to bring WebOS to its Pre and Pixi handsets.

The new version WebOS 1.4 is expected to arrive on the above mentioned phones. However, the new version is expected to come up with improvements including a fix to the browser and simple options for calls and navigation. The updates are being announced on the phones this week only.

Among the changes, it is expected to come with options of e-mail sorting, to add embedded numbers or e-mail addresses to Contacts, forward messages to e-mails and also considerable improvement in Search feature.

An improved user interface is also on the cards; besides all this, the Palm Pre would come with Adobe Flash 10 Beta. The updates would be available to the customers as part of installation or download; also they can initiate the process in Updates application.
 
Meanwhile, the company is expected to post losses this quarter also due to sluggish sales of its Palm handsets.
