GIBSS has been awarded the Sankalp Awards 2012  for the most innovative sustainable and scalable company in the Clean Tech and Clean Energy Sector.

GIBSS, with its energy efficient Geothermal, Hot water cogeneration and Lighting systems, helps buildings reduce operational costs by 60-80%. Arun Shenoy, Co-founder, GIBSS, said “Our long term vision is Zero Net Energy Buildings – Buildings that can harvest energy to meet their own demand. The first step in this direction is to reduce and optimize demand so that supply side solutions can be made affordable and commercially viable. Our demand side geothermal, hot water and lighting technologies can reduce energy demand in buildings by 60-80%.

Sankalp 2012 is a Social Enterprise Awards process that is aimed at recognizing the most sustainable, scalable and innovative social enterprises in India and South East Asia. Sankalp organizers had received 100+ applications from across the region. The applications were evaluated on various parameters including operational efficiency, social impact, innovation, sustainability, scalability, market potential and team profile.

Mandar Kaprekar, Co-founder, GIBSS stated - It is a great milestone for us. Our dream is to make every building and home in India Zero Net Energy. Our commercially viable zero net energy building systems have already generated savings of over 5 million electrical units reduced over 75 million litres of water consumption and 6000 tonnes of carbon footprint equivalent to planting 400,000 trees.

Recently, GIBSS has raised 2 Cr from SRI Capital Fund and Hyderabad Angels Network. Sashi Reddi, founder of SRI Capital Fund, had led the investment round in GIBSS.
