It was expected that after the announcement of stepping down by Jerry Yang, Microsoft could look for another round of negotiation for possible acquisition or purchase deal of Yahoo. But ending all such speculations, a statement released from Microsoft indicated that there will be no acquisition of Yahoo. No such deal is on table, but yes Microsoft can think for buy out of search part of Yahoo.
Meanwhile, Yahoo’s shares have touched their lowest but gained momentum after Jerry Yang’s resignation.
Incidentally, Microsoft withdrew its $47.5 billion buyout offer for Yahoo in May after Yang and his board rejected the bid as too low. After then, Jerry Yang and his board members also rejected the proposal to buy search part and instead signed a search advertising deal with Google Inc.
But, due to constant opposition from anti-trust regulators, Google withdrew deal.
Microsoft indicated that it is still interested in pursuing a search deal with Yahoo, cited sources.
The indications were given at the meeting, which was broadcast over the Internet. Stating that Microsoft is looking for strategic plans to grow in all its business groups, but still the largest software maker is not immune to the recession. Microsoft, the world’s largest software maker is on hiring spree, adding more than 20,000 employees in the last two years.
