Research in Motion (RIM) has also shifted from being an innovator to an imitator. The Canada based company which is the service provider for Blackberry has also decided to enter the mobile computing arena as per reports. Infact, analysts say that RIM has patiently waited for technology to catch up with his early vision of mobile computing.

Mobile computing is considered to be a booming new market with the entire corporate focus fixed on it.RIM too has decided to try its hand. RIM's response has been either stagnant or rushed, the critics say. RIM's stock declined 35 per cent in the six months before it took the covers off the PlayBook in late September. Since then, the shares have recovered to about $60.But that is still not covering up their mid-2008 peak of more than $140.

It is to be seen if working into wireless mode and leaping into the mobile computing arena would bring back the fading identity of RIM or not.
