Saudi Arabia has withdrawn its warning of placing a ban on Blackberry for its weak security provisions. Earlier UAE government had stated that R.I.M (Research In Motion) does not provide high security for Blackberry phones which gives an outlet for terrorists to access any information they aspire for. But UAE government cited on Tuesday that things with R.I.M. and operators were in progress and they would not have to place a ban on Blackberry phones anymore.
It has been reported that the necessary regulations are in progress and Blackberry phones will not be banned in UAE if the mandatory security issues are taken care of. The encoded encryption key is what forms the basis of the duel. The government of UAE wants to fight domestic terrorism by tightening the security settings available on Blackberry phones used by the Terrorists.
The access to decrypt the key in Blackberry phones was denied to the UAE government by R.I.M., the world’s second-largest maker of smartphones. The operators were asked for "legal intercepts" by the Saudi Government.It is very much evident that UAE Government places security issues above everything. But it is to be seen if R.I.M. will change its entire security settings to comply with UAE.
