Intel, developer and manufacturer of chip and processors have launched the new series for the chipset N280, GN40 which are faster and more efficient than its previous version N270. The chip is supposed to be 67MHz faster (1667MHz vs. 1600MHz) than the previous version but the CPU's bus speed has increased from 533MHz to 667MHz FSB on the original Diamondville part. It is expected to get launch between Q2-Q3 of 2009 with a price around $60-65 in thousand-unit tray quantities, can be reasonable compared to $46 for its predecessor. Besides N280, Intel has also introduced a chipset GN40 to match it. This chipset has the ability to decode 720p HD content in hardware supports Vista's Aero which allows the user to use of an external DVI port, increased RAM loadout from 2GB to 8GB, and is DDR-3 compatible.
