According to latest report, Acer Inc, the world’s third largest PC maker is planning to release its Chrome operating system based netbook at Computex in June.
It is reported that the company will also showcase multiple new products featuring the cloud-based operating system in the event. Earlier, it was predicted that the Google’s operating system is still in developmental stage and would be available in the second half of 2010.
Sources said that besides Acer, other PC vendors might also reveal their devices based on Google’s software.
It is reported that the Chromium (the open source project behind Chrome and Chrome OS) will enhance the current trend of web-based applications and will have very small boot time. However, the success of the device would depend upon the adoption and its HTML-5 based web apps.
Acer has not officially revealed any information about the development.
