Dell Inc, Round Rock, Texas based PC maker has announced that it will sell Smartphones based on Google Inc's mobile operating system Android.
The company has planned to introduce its new Mini 3 Smartphone via Claro, part of the America Movil network and China Mobile. However, Dell has not detailed the device, which will be available by the end of November through China Mobile and around the end of the year for Claro.
Back in October, it had reported that the company may launch an Android-based Smartphone in the United States on AT&T's network. However, the company has not cleared that now it will sell the phones in the United States. After the success of Apple’s iPhone and RIM’s Blackberry, Dell is the latest PC and server manufacturer to bet on the fast-growing market.
It is reported that the global factory shipments of Smartphones will touch about 235.6 million units in 2010 as compared to 184.2 million in 2009.
