Lenovo, the PC maker had introduced new IdeaPads and even a notebook-slate hybrid during CES, 2010 last month. Now, the company has launched a new AMD-based IdeaPad called the IdeaPad G455A.
AMD and Lenovo have jointly announced the new laptop that runs on AMD Tigris. The Tigris platform was launched in September last year and supports full HD 1080p playback and a 62 percent faster wireless download rate.
The device uses the AMD Athlon II M320 central processing unit with a frequency of 2.1GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 250GB SATA hard drive.
The device comes with a 14-inch screen with 1366 × 768 pixels resolution and supports ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4550 graphic cards.
Measuring 345 × 235 × 26.2 - 35.9mm, the device weighs 2.3kg and supports 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, a VGA output, three USB ports and a 0.3 megapixel webcam.
With a price tag of $588, the laptop features Windows 7 Basic operating system.
