Sony Corp, Japan based electronic giant has updated its small, light, and pocketable Vaio P laptop, which will cost about ¥100,000 ($1,080).

The new laptop will have the same long and thin look, but the company added mouse buttons to both sides of the lower corners on the LCD screen.

The device now comes with a motion sensor to detect the movement of the device and automatically rotates the screen image. Further, the company has introduced a digital compass for easy navigation and geo-location services.

In the new device, the company has used a more power efficient SSD, which increases the battery life of the device from around 3.5 hours to 5.5 hours. The device features 8-inch screen with 1600x768 pixel resolution, Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit operating system, and 64GB SSD.

For connectivity, the laptop supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, WiMax and Bluetooth.

The company had introduced the Vaio P series at the beginning of 2009 and positioned the computer as a fully featured yet netbook sized device.
