AMD is on growth path in India: Analysts

The tech giant AMD is reportedly enhancing its focus in Indian markets. As per latest information, AMD India has decided to further strengthen its channel engagement in India.

According to latest chunk of information, AMD is also mulling to expand its reach to other segments including multimedia and gaming, besides strengthening its graphic card business. 

AMD is likely to have presence in over 200 Indian cities by next year, through a hub-and-spoke model, trusted aides informed. 

It is worth noticing, 2011 was a good year for AMD, and it has managed to win some large tenders from state and central government establishments. 

Trusted sources informed, AMD’s significant wins include the Gujarat Schools order for around 95,000 desktops which was won by Acer. In another case, a contract won by HCL to supply 200,000 notebooks to Elcot which features a dual core AMD processor.

According to Vinay Sinha, Director, Enterprise Business, AMD India, the company had its biggest wins in desktop, laptop and server categories in the country over the past six months. Both enterprises and government are showing bigger acceptance to AMD platforms. 

Raghuraman, Director, Transaction Business, AMD India has also shared his views on AMD’s success plans, AMD’s recognition is helping the company to grow further. Now, partners are more confident. 

Further he added, AMD created a bundle of a Quad core Athlon X4 641, an entry level Radeon Graphics card, and motherboard bundle at Rs 8500, last month. 

Let’s hope, AMD will continue strengthening its presence in India.
