According to the latest news, AOL Inc, American global Internet services and Media Company has recently announced another round of layoffs.
If reports are to be believed, AOL is planning to eliminate hundreds of jobs next week, including at its Patch local Internet unit, according to two people familiar with the matter.
AOL, with 5,660 employees, is reportedly trimming costs amid declining sales.
Analysts added, AOL has announced to reduce workforce to make its investments secure and margins profitable.
Analysts further added, the company has undergone a series of layoffs over the past few years. For instance, the company has laid off about 20% of its work force in last year March.
Other AOL top executives who have left the company in recent months include technology executive Alex Gounares, whose departure was announced this week and Brad Garlinghouse, who ran the applications and commerce group, left AOL last year. The company has also lost Tim Dierks and Tim Castelli.
