Seems, the Aakash dream is very close to realization and users can hope to get better version of Aakash tablet this time. According to latest chunk of information, the launch of the upgraded version of the Aakash tablet, Aakash-II may be as close as early as next month.

According to a statement by Sunit Singh Tuli, CEO, Datawind, the improved specifications of the upgraded tablet have got the approval from the government. HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal has also confirmed that the upgraded Aakash tablet is now ready to be launched.

The report further revealed the information that the production of the Aakash-II will commence in a few days before its actual launch. As a result, the company will have a good number of devices before its official launch.

It is reportedly said that the new tablet would be completely indigenous, and defects noticed in the earlier version would be rectified in upcoming version. It is said that the new tablet would have a better 3200m AH battery with a three hour battery backup, a 700 MHz Cortex A8 processor and a capacitive touchscreen.

It is worth noticing, Aakash is an Indigenous tablet packed with all requisite attributes of a high-end tablet. India’s own budget tablet is equipped with a cellular modem and SIM. The tablet is powered with Google’s Android platform, and support Wi-Fi connectivity for internet access and cloud storage. Also, it supports 256 MB of RAM, a 32 GB expandable memory slot and two USB ports.

Let's hope to see the next version of Aakash tablet soon in the market.
