In a bid to encourage its ambitious growth plan, Accenture, which already has one third of its employee-base in India, is continuing to aggressively increase its employee number.
If reports are to be believed, the new recruits will be laterals with expertise across different verticals including ERP, CRM, SCM, EAI(enterprise application integration), telecom application, program management, consulting, project management, application maintenance, application development, IT infrastructure, KPO/BPO, delivery management, business analysis and practice management.
Presently, India is the single largest employee base for $27-billion technology giant Accenture, with the workforce expected to cross 80,000 by August, followed by the US with 40,000 employees. Philippines is at third place with 35,000 employees.
It is reportedly said that the technology services and outsourcing giant has taken additional office spaces in Pune, Chennai, Mumbai and the National Capital Region, each in the 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh sft range. It is worth noticing that a 2 lakh sqft infrastructure can offer sufficient seating place to about 2,000 people.
According to an estimate, some 6,000 to 7,000 campus recruits will also join the company this year.
According to Avinash Vashistha, Managing Director at Accenture India; the company already has a presence in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. Pune is now the city of choice for immediate expansion because of its educational ecosystem, large talent pool, good climate and proximity to Mumbai.
