Just one day after, state-run operator, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reduced the charges for its mobile data usage by a whopping 75 percent for their postpaid users, Bharti Airtel has cut prices of its third-generation (3G) mobile data services by about 70 percent.
Analysts believe, Bharti Airtel has taken this bold step to boost usage of company’s premium services in the country.
Besides tariff deduction, Airtel has also introduced new Smartbytes additional data usage packs for its postpaid Airtel mobile customers on 3G. With Airtel’s new 3G Smartbytes, postpaid mobile customers will now be able to continue enjoying uninterrupted access to high speed internet access on their mobile devices, even after crossing their monthly data limits.
It is worth noticing, Bharti Airtel and its rivals in India have started 3G services last year, after spending a whopping $12 billion to buy airwaves in a state auction.
However, Bharti Airtel has got luke warm response for its faster Internet on phones and video calls services due to high prices.
Let's hope, the latest move will help Bharti Airtel to appeal more users.
