According to a latest report, Yahoo India has got a reprieve from the Delhi High Court. If reports are to be believed, a Delhi court allowed US-based Internet giant Yahoo Inc's application to remove its name from defaulters list involved in displaying disparaging content on their websites.
Sources informed that Administrative Civil Judge (ACJ) Praveen Singh from Delhi High court has directed the petitioner to revise his complaint.
To rewind: Earlier in December, Delhi High Court had ordered 21 websites including Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo and Youtube to remove all derogatory content from their websites. Among these, 12 websites are of companies based outside India.
The court reportedly asked petitioner Mufti Aijaz Arshad Qasmi to remove all improper parties from his complaint and present another list on April 10 mentioning the names of accused companies. Only then, the case can proceed against proper parties.
The company, in its application, had told the court that there is no objectionable material posted on its website, sources informed.
Earlier, in last month, the court had dropped the name of the Redmond Giant Microsoft from the case saying no case was made out against them.
