Tech giant Apple has reportedly contracted specialists from Russian anti-virus company Kaspersky Lab to examine the vulnerabilities of Apple’s proprietary Mac OS X operating system to improve its security.
In response, Kaspersky representative have begun an analysis of Apple’s vulnerabilities, and the malware targeting the Mac OS X.
It is important to note that Mac OS X security issue has became an important issue after April, when over 500,000 Mac computers were found infected. Earlier, it was believed that Apple computers are enjoying better protection from viruses than Microsoft’s Windows powered computers.
According to Nikolai Grebennikov, Chief Technology Officer at Kaspersky, Apple has recently invited Kaspersky officials to improve its security.
Further he added, App Store has allowed the company to reduce malware threats for the time being. It is found, malware creators generally find their way into a system. For this reason; Apple needs an outside security expertise to help manage those threats.
Let’s hope, Kaspersky will help Apple to offer full proof security to Mac OS X.
