After proving its worth in mobile devices including iPhone, iPad & iPod and computing devices like Macbook, Apple might be casting a watchful eye on television market. If reports are to be believed, the company has already begun testing its much-awaited ''iTV'' in China.
Trusted sources informed, China's Foxconn's Shenzhen factory has received the first order for production of iTV and has already started producing initial models on a ''trial basis''.
Tim Cook, Chief Executive Officer at Apple has recently shared his views that technology for televisions is of "intense interest" for Apple. However, he stressed that the iPad and iPhone maker will gradually unfold the details about revolutionary iTV.
It is expected that Apple will unveil a TV-based device in late 2012 or by the 2013 beginning with sizes ranging from 42 inches to 55 inches, and prices between 1,500 dollars and up to 2,000 dollars. However, no official comments have been received from any engaged partner till these updates.
Industry insiders believe, Apple’s entry into TV will shake up the cozy television content and distribution industry, same as Apple has done with its iPad, iPod and iPhone.
