The tech war between two biggies, Apple and Samsung has taken a dramatic twist. According to a latest update, Apple is seeking to block Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone in the US for infringing at least two of four Apple patents.
According to reliable insiders, Apple has asked a court for the Northern District of California in San Jose to ban sales of the Galaxy S III on grounds of patent infringements.
The infringed patents include, U.S. Patent No. 8,086,604 relating to a universal interface for retrieval of information in a computer system, and Patent No. 5,946,647 regarding a system and method for performing any action on a structure in computer-generated data, trusted aides informed.
Samsung has recently launched Galaxy S3 smartphone in 28 countries including Europe, India.
Besides the latest lawsuit from its US rival, a spokesperson from Samsung has stated, the company will launch the handset in US soon and sales of the Galaxy S3 will proceed as planned.
Market watchers added, the latest move is extending the global legal dispute further between Apple and Samsung, which are already battling for supremacy in the mobile device market including smartphone and tablet for a long time. To the reader’s surprise, there are almost 10 different patent infringement cases pending between Samsung and Apple.
