Apple Inc's latest version of operating platform iOS 6 will not include a pre-loaded app for using Google Inc's popular video website, YouTube. YouTube has been among a handful of apps that come pre-loaded in all Apple devices since the original iPhone was introduced in 2007.
A spokesperson from Apple stated that its license to include the YouTube app in the iOS operating system has ended. However, Apple users can now use YouTube in the Safari browser. In addition, Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the app store.
Industry experts believe, Apple’s latest move is a clear sign of the growing rivalry between the technology companies which were once closely aligned. However, nowadays these are vying for supremacy in the fast-growing mobile computing market.
Another analyst added, Apple and Google are the mobile operating systems for the future and this is where the battleground is going to lie.
It is important to note, earlier this year, Apple stated that it would dump Google's mapping software from its mobile devices and replaced it with its own 3D mapping service.
