The tech giant Apple has reportedly unveiled an update to its notebook range, including the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. Besides MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, Apple also took the wraps off a completely revamped, next-generation MacBook Pro packed with the rumored Retina display and the popular mobile operating system iOS 6.
Commenting at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of worldwide marketing at Apple has shared his views that the new 15.4-inch MacBook Pro is thinner at 0.71 inches and weighs less than 4.5 pounds. The Mac OS has been updated for the new MacBook Pro display.
As far its processors is concerned, the new MacBook Pro is power-packed with a 2.7-GHz, quad-core Intel Core i7 that is up to twice as fast as the previous generation. Other intuitive attributes include turbo boost up to 3.7-GHz, up to 16GB of memory, and next-generation Kepler graphics via the GeForce GT 650M.
In order to challenge the new crop of ultrabooks from other rivals of industry, the new MacBook Air will also be lighter on user’s pockets. The MacBook Pro with Retina display will start at $2,199 for the 2.3-GHz quad-core i7 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage.
It is expected that iOS 6 will be available for Apple’s remarkable devices including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch as a free software update around middle of September this year.
