With increase in e-transactions, Indian Income Tax department has started keeping a vigilance eye on online shopping stores and messenger services like BBM, Ovi to keep a check on deals that could have international taxation ramifications.
With the latest initiative taken by Income Tax Department, all subscription-based interactive websites and online payment terminals have been placed under scrutiny. These sites are now supposed to develop actionable intelligence on cross-border transactions.
According to a recent report released by the I-T department indicates that it is mandatory to understand the nuances of all internet protocols including Nokia's Ovi online store, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) and multi-level e-marketing, deals struck through networks enabled by cloud computing and services like 'pushmail', offered on latest cellphones by various service providers.
It is worth noticing, Cloud computing refers to the internet-based facilities activated between a host of electronic devices including laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones and other servers.
