Although, there are signs of slowdown in the market, but companies such as Amazon, Xerox, AMD and Facebook are willing to invest in real estate for both expansion and consolidation of their business in India. According to the latest piece of information, technology companies including Facebook, Amazon, Xerox, Intuit and chipmaker AMD have booked acres of office space in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
To the reader’s surprise, these five companies have in recent weeks leased more than 6 lakh sq ft of land as a precursor to hiring thousands of Indian professionals. It is worth noticing that a 2 lakh square feet infrastructure can offer sufficient seating place to about 2,000 people as the general rule of thumb is to provide 75-80 sq ft of usable space for every employee.
As per latest information, Facebook and AMD have booked 40,000 sq ft and 2,60,000 sq ft land in Hydrabad respectively. On the other hand, Amazon, Intuit and Xerox have have booked 4,00,000, 1,25,000 and 2,60,000 sy ft land in banglore.
Considering there is no official word to back up this story, it is rumored that Facebook's Hyderabad office are expected to accommodate approximately 500 staff and Amazon about 5,000.
Seems, Coming year for IT industry is definitely going to be aggressive on recruitments; a good news for job seekers.
