Promising enhanced features and better efficiency than its earlier versions, the web giant Google has finally revealed its newest version of Android operating system.
According to latest update, Google who is famous for naming its operating system after the name of deserts has selected the name ‘Jelly Bean’ for its next generation of Android operating system.
It is reportedly said that Google will share the details on Jelly Bean at its Google I/O conference in San Francisco, where it will demonstrate Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for developers and press. However, no real details have been shared by Google on what the operating system will include.
Though not confirmed, the new OS is likely to feature Android Beam, based on NFC (Near Field Communication) which allows two Android smartphones to securely exchange Web pages, contacts, media or even applications.
As a matter of concern, it is found, Google has released the current version of Android, called Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.0 in last November which brought sweeping changes to the mobile phone and tablet operating system. Keeping this in mind, analysts are also expecting numerous interesting features from Google’s latest version of operating system.
It is expected that the new Jelly Bean OS would be available for users in mid-July.
Devices, including the Galaxy Nexus, Motorola Xoom and Nexus S will get the upgrade automatically over the air.
Market watchers believe, Google's upcoming tablet Nexus 7 combined with with Jelly Bean would be a tough competition to Apple, who dominates the tablet market with iPad.
