Insiders also revealed that the total Indian Software-as-a-service market is expected to reach Rs 465 crore by end of this year, an increase of 50 per cent over last year’s data.

Cloud Computing is experiencing an extensive importance from the vendor-service provider-channel community on the one hand and business leaders and CIOs on the other.

According to a report, Infrastructure-as-a-service Industry (IaaS) was also expected to gain momentum after 2012. The overall CAGR for the Indian IaaS market for the timeline 2010-2014 was expected to grow at 49 percent.

Some of the chief applications that witnessed tremendous growth in 2011 over 2010 include customer relation management solutions from players like Salesforce.com, collaborative applications such as conferencing and messaging and supply chain management solutions.
