In a surprising move, social networking giant Facebook’s high-profile CTO Bret Taylor has announced that it is leaving Facebook later this summer. If reports are to be believed, Bret Taylor is planning to start up a new company.
After leaving Facebook, Taylor shared his views in an interview that he understands that his departure will be perceived as a disruption, although he noted that Facebook had a deep bench of talented technical staff under CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Further added by Taylor that he wanted to give a special thanks to Mark Zuckerberg for not only been his boss for the past three years, but also a mentor and one of his closest friends.
Prior to joining Facebook, Taylor was working with search giant Google. It is reportedly said that he has a strong start-up background. He left the search giant to found FriendFeed, a once-popular social aggregator. FriendFeed was acquired by Facebook in 2009.
