Mere after a week, when Facebook made its multi-billion-dollar debut on the stock market, the social networking giant is increasing its focus on mobile lifestyles. As per a latest update, Facebook has purchased a "social discovery" startup Glancee.
Sources informed that Glancee is a location-aware app that allows users to discover the hidden connections around them and to meet interesting people.
Started in 2010, Glancee has a goal of bringing together the best of physical and digital worlds to users.
According to a spokesperson from Glancee, the company is very excited to announce that Facebook has acquired Glancee. They will build great products for over 900 million Facebook users.
Besides, Glancee, earlier Facebook has acquired Instagram and Gowalla in recent months. Facebook has spend whopping $1 billion to buy the photo-sharing company Instagram.
The financial terms of the Glancee purchase have not been disclosed. However, it is believed that the latest deal would be far less than the billion dollars Facebook - Instagram deal.
