Numerous Macbook air users have been experiencing glitches like frequent system hang and crashes, fading of the display and a message saying the user needs to press the power button to restart the system. Now, the Chrome developer, Google has reportedly acknowledged the problem and as a result Google is in the process to find and fix the root cause.
A spokesperson from Google has said that the company has found a "leak of graphics resources in the Chrome browser related to the drawing of plugins " that is causing kernel panic on the new Macbook Airs. However, Google has clearly mentioned that the problem is restricted only to new notebooks which have Intel HD 4000 graphics chip.
Google spokesperson further added, it quite difficult for any application to trigger such behavior. So, the company has filed a bug report with Apple to find the real reason of the issue.
Till the time the existing issue is resolved, Google has temporarily disabled some of Chrome's GPU acceleration features on the new Macbook Air laptops via an auto-updated release and promises to anticipate further fixes in the coming days.
