Chips by Nvidia, AMD and Intel will now be used more in notebook PC’s than desktops, sources revealed.
Research also states that graphics enabled microprocessors which are chips integrating CPU and GPU on a single die, will be incorporated into the notebook segment increasing an 11% by the end of the year. The number of chips instilled in notebooks will reach upto 115 million units. The overall market segment for graphics chips is slated to grow by 9%, having a shipment number of 63 million units across the world.
It is estimated that by 2014, 83 percent of notebooks and 76 % of desktops will include a graphics chip inside. The popularity is obvious considering that a graphics chip extinguishes the need of an external graphics card, but gives an enhanced and rich visual experience, sources stated.
But there will be a group of users who will prefer advanced chips giving high end graphics display; this group will majorly consist of gaming and professionals working on applications. ITVoir NewsDesk |
