According to a latest update, Google has just bought social marketing software developer Wildfire. If reports are to be believed, the latest deal will close for $250 million.
Founded four years ago, Wildfire in Redwood City, California based company which is basically helping brands to optimize their presence across various social networks. Wildfire has grown to 400 employees over the last four years. To the reader’s surprise, it is now serving 16,000 customers across the world.
It is reportedly said that Wild fire lets Google to serve its marketing and ad campaigns on social networking sites including Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and LinkedIn. So, the acquisition will help the company to provide advanced software and services to brands who want to run contests, sweepstakes, branded games and more on Google+.
Industry experts added, Wildfire will still operate as a marketing tool for other brands on Google’s competing platforms, including Facebook. This will put the search leader in a curious position where it earns money on the success of its rivals.
It is believed, every time when a Wildfire team visits Facebook to see what new ad products the company is offering, Google will get to hear about it. This way the latest acquisition will give an additional advantage to the search giant.
