Yes, it’s right! Hyundai, which is famous for producing cars, is all set to foray tablet business. According to a latest update, Hyundai will launch new tablet computers under its brand name in Russia by autumn 2012.
Trusted aides informed, Hyundai will offer two seven-inch tablet models; one with 9.7 inch display screen and other with 10.1 inch screen. Both the devices will run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich mobile operating system. Other intuitive specifications will include 800*480 pixels resolution, Allwinner A10 CPU which clocks at 1.5 GHz with 512 MB RAM.
Besides these, each model is likely to be equipped with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB onboard memory, and will support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions. In addition, Hyundai tablets will have 2 megapixel front-facing cameras with a micro SDHC slots and will support multi-touch inputs.
Initially, the South Korean company is looking to manufacture the first batch of tablet computers in China by October 2012.
If sales reach 200,000 tablets in the first year, Hyundai may plan to build a plant in Russia, insiders informed.
It is expected that Hyundai will start sale of its tablets from autumn 2012. As far as pricing is concerned, the tablets are likely to cost from 7,000 rubles ($213) to 12,000 rubles ($365).
