Seems, the Union Minister of State for IT and Communications, Mr. Sachin Pilot is challenging the economic slowdown and "trickle down" effect in India. According to young dignitary, the demand for Indian IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) sector is expected to cross $300 billion mark by 2020.
Further, he suggested that Indian IT sector is contributing about 8 percent of the total GDP of the country. Recently, the industry successfully crossed $100 billion mark and now they are looking ahead to cross $300 billion of IT and ITeS exports after 8 years.
To the reader’s surprise, the hardware and electronics sector has a surging demand of $50 billion in the country. The industry can effectively leverage the increasing demand of electronics including televisions, computers or laptops and consumer electronics. In coming few years the requirement will certainly touch $400 billion mark, quoted as said. In contrast, Indian IT industry is considered to be the new growth driver of the country.
Regarding the IT infrastructure, he acclaimed that in next two to three years, India will have the best IT infrastructure in the world.
However it has to be seen, how efficiently these prospects come to be pragmatic.
