Seems, economic slowdown is taking toll on hiring process in Indian IT companies. According to a latest update, IT bellwether of India Infosys has delayed joining of some 28,000 engineers hired from different campuses to as late as July 2013.
After facing shrinking sales of 2 percent in the quarter ending March, Infosys is now expecting flat sales growth in the three months ending June 30th.
As far as revenue growth for full year is concerned, it is expecting to grow 8-10 percent, which is lower than the 11-14 percent growth forecast made by industry body Nasscom. The Nasscom( National Association of Software and Services Companies) is a trade association of Indian Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry, established in 1988.
Trusted aides informed, Infosys’ hiring forecast for the next year 35,000, compared to 45,000 engineers it hired in the just-concluded fiscal.
In addition, Infosys has recently announced that it has decided to give no salary increase to its employees in April.
