In a bid to catch-up with the flourishing smartphone market in India, the chip maker Intel, together with Lava Mobiles has just launched its first smartphone Xolo X900.
Announced in Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Xolo X900 is the first-ever Intel’s Atom processor-based smartphone.
Powered with Intel's Atom processor Z2460 along with Intel’s Hyper-Threading Technology and a clock speed of 1.6 Ghz, the new Xolo 900 equips world's fastest processor in any mobile device in the world, claimed Intel. Lava Xolo 900 runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
In addition, it is equipped with 4.03-inch LCD display and an 8 megapixel rear camera. Moreover, there's also a front-facing camera for video chat. Other intuitive features include, Near Field Communication ( NFC), HDMI connectivity and HD video playback.
Priced at Rs 22,000, Xolo X900 promises better user’s experience with fast browsing, amazing graphics and easy to use interface.
Besides the Lava Xolo 900, Intel is also planning to launch a number of other smartphones in partnership with Motorola, Lenovo and Orange later this year.
Market watchers added, the latest move by Intel is intended to challenge the dominance of ARM processors in smartphone segment as a major chunk of the smartphones and tablets have ARM-based chipsets.
