In a bid to stave off the stiff challenge from numerous tablet available in the market, the chip maker Intel is betting big on Ultrabooks.
Intel has recently announced its plans to launch more than 50 new Ultrabook models by the end of year at its Solution Summit 2012. As per the insiders report, Intel’s new range of Ultrabooks have a strong resemblance with Apple’s iPad and MacBook Air.
Presently, Intel has almost 18 Ultrabook models on the market. The chip maker is predicting that by the end of 2012, Ultrabooks will represent 40 per cent of the consumer laptop market.
It is important to note, Ultrabooks are compact and ultra-slim laptops packed in small frames. They're simply less expensive versions of MacBook Air machines that use flash storage and boot up in 10 seconds or less. The slim Ultrabooks, retain their efficiency by utilizing low-power Intel CULV processors with integrated graphics and solid-state drives.
As a matter of concern, it is found, one of themes of the CES 2011 was the Google’s Android powered tablets, but this year the scenario has changed. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012, held in Las Vegas has witnessed numerous important announcements from different tech companies about their upcoming ultrabooks.
However, it would be too early to say that Intel's Ultrabooks will replace Apple’s iPad. So, stay tuned to get more information on this.
