Ultrabooks, not tablet computers, are the latest buzzword in the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show, say numerous industry experts.
It is observed, one of themes of the CES 2011 was the introduction of Google’s Android powered tablets, but this year the scenario is changed. This year's CES event is the year Ultrabooks. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012, held in Las Vegas has witnessed numerous important announcements from different tech companies about latest gadgets including TVs and phones and computers.
One of the significant announcement is done by Acer which has introduced world's thinnest Ultrabook Acer Aspire S5 at the enent , this year. Dell has also joined the Ultrabook fray by announcing $999 XPS 13 Ultrabook.
Besides these two biggies, the No. 1 chip maker Intel has also introduced its second-generation Ultrabook chip.
Paul Otellini, CEO at Intel has recently stated, dozens of manufacturers including Samsung Electronics, Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba, Acer and Asus would ship new Ultrabook laptops in present quarter.
It is important to note, Ultrabooks are compact and ultra-slim laptops packed in small frames. They're simply less expensive versions of MacBook Air machines that use flash storage and boot up in 10 seconds or less. The slim Ultrabooks, retain their efficiency by utilizing low-power Intel CULV processors with integrated graphics and solid-state drives.
After reviewing, one can easily say, 2012 is going to be the year of the Ultrabooks. But, it would be too early to say that Ultrabooks will replace tablets.
