Social networking sites are abuzz with the news that Apple is planning to introduce a wearable display device for users. If reports are to be believed, the tech giant Apple has been awarded a patent for a wearable display device by the US Patent and Trademark Office. 

Insiders suggest, Apple’s upcoming project sounds similar to Google's Project Glass.

According to latest chunk of information, the actual patent describes a "peripheral treatment for head-mounted displays". However, it is not confirmed that the new device is going to be mobile as Google's Project Glass, but will offer a more static experience. It is expected that the device could be for a helmet, pair of glasses or even a visor and is expected to have applications useful to surgeons, military personnel, firefighters, police officers, scientists and engineers.

Reports also informed, Apple’s new device users could communicate with it by using Apple's artificial intelligence software Siri and the information could then be relayed to iPhone.

Trusted sources informed that Apple has already created prototypes of its wearable device and a small group of Apple employees are dedicatedly working with the gadgets to make them useful as well as mobile.

Analysts believe, the core concept of the plan is to make smartphone, the central hub for mobile communication.
