Internet Explorer(introduced in 1998), for the first time has registered a significant decline in the market share. According to the latest report, Chrome (introduced in 2008) is gradually eating up IE’s usage share, while other web browser's like Firefox (introduced in 2004) remained stagnant for past few months.
Sources informed, Google Chrome, in particular, has proven to be a convincing alternative, with it being faster, securer and more intuitive than Internet Explorer.
If reports are to be believed, Chrome has passed Internet Explorer’s 31.94 percent share with 32.76 percent in the last week, ending May 14th. Assessing the current scenario, it is expected that IE could even slide below 50 percent by the end of this year. This can end the supremacy which Microsoft is enjoying for more than a decade.
It is worth noticing, Internet Explorer at one time was enjoying over 95 percent of the browser market. This is mainly for being pre-loaded on the world’s most popular operating system, Windows.
Well! For the time being, it is difficult to say whether Chrome will prove as game changer for the software giant or not.
Let the time decide the fate of these browsers. Till then, stay tuned.
